Publishing, in every format
Feed posts, carousels of 2 to 20 items, reels with a cover and a choice of whether they also appear in the feed, and stories. Each can be scheduled, published now, duplicated or deleted, and can carry a first comment. Instagram publishing comes out of the same post allowance as Facebook on every plan.
How it connects
Two ways, both on Meta's official API. Connect Instagram directly uses the Instagram API with Instagram Login: you sign in to Instagram in Instagram's own window and approve instagram_business_basic, instagram_business_manage_comments, instagram_business_manage_messages, instagram_business_content_publish and instagram_business_manage_insights. No Facebook Page is needed. Or connect through the Facebook Page the account is linked to, using the Instagram API with Facebook Login and the matching instagram_* permissions. Either way, dmswift never sees your password and never drives a logged-in session.

Limits worth knowing
- The account must be a professional (business or creator) account. A linked Facebook Page is optional: it is only needed to connect through the Page.
- Private messages are capped at 1,000 characters and carry no buttons; links travel in the text.
- Liking a comment is not available on Instagram's API; replying, hiding and deleting are.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a business account?
You need an Instagram professional account, business or creator. Switching is free in Instagram's settings. A Facebook Page is not required: Connect Instagram directly signs in with Instagram Login.
Is this allowed by Instagram?
Yes. Everything goes through Meta's official Instagram API with permissions you grant and can revoke at any time. Nothing logs in as you.
Can my agent post a reel?
Yes. With posts:write and posts:publish, an agent uploads the video, creates the reel with ig_type reel, and publishes or schedules it, within its daily publish cap.
