DM keyword automations
People who write to you get an answer, even at 3am.
A message that contains one of your keywords gets your reply straight away. It only ever answers people who wrote to you first, inside the window Meta allows.
What starts an automation
- An incoming direct message, on Instagram or in Messenger, that contains your keyword.
- On Instagram, a reply to one of your stories, or a mention of your account in someone's story.
- A tap on a growth link or a printed QR code that opens a conversation with a code you chose.
What the reply can carry
- Text with merge tokens such as the person's first name, and emoji.
- Up to three buttons in Messenger, and a follow-up button that sends the link only when tapped.
- Tracked short links, so the funnel shows who opened them.
- Tags on the contact, so the people who asked for a price list become a segment you can follow up with.
AI replies from your own words
Write your prices, hours and policies into a knowledge base, add your own key for an AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Groq or OpenRouter), and an AI reply can answer questions no keyword covers. It answers only from those passages, scores its own confidence, and below the threshold you set it sends nothing and hands the conversation to a person.
The 24-hour window
Meta allows a free-form message to a person within 24 hours of their last message to you. dmswift shows how much of that window is left on every conversation, and skips anyone outside it. It never attaches a message tag to get around the rule.

Can I message people who never wrote to me?
No. Every private message dmswift sends answers someone who wrote first: a comment, a message, a story reply or a mention.
What happens when a person takes over?
Automation goes quiet for that contact until the conversation is handed back, so a customer never gets a bot reply in the middle of a human one.
Can my AI agent reply in the inbox?
Yes, with the inbox:write scope, inside the 24-hour window, never while a human has taken the conversation over, and up to 100 messages a day per key.
